The focus of chiropractic is the relationship between structure and function in the neuromusculoskeletal system - that is, the interrelationship of the nervous system, bones, and muscles.   This interrelationship is evaluated for dysfunction in joint movement, muscle imbalances and nerve irritation.   Treatment to correct these problems is undertaken by a Chiropractor.   A Chiropractor provides both a diagnosis and treatment for the patient.

Chiropractic treatment emphasizes joint manipulation, known as an 'adjustment', in which your doctor will use his hands to move a joint in your spine.   An adjustment allows your body to function biomechanically correct.   Chiropractic aims at getting all the joints in your spine moving together correctly.   This aids in decreasing pain, nerve irritation, and muscle tension, while allowing your body to move through its full range of motion.   Chiropractic treatment is focused at the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms.

Did you know?
  • Chiropractic is currently the second largest primary health care discipline in North America.
  • Chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners, which means that you do not need a referral from a medical doctor to make an appointment.
  • Chiropractors treat patients without the use of drugs or surgery, and refer patients for medical care when necessary.
  • Chiropractic approaches healthcare from a holistic point of view, meaning that the entire body must be considered in the treatment of a patient, not just the ailing part.
